Goal: To chant One crore (10 millions) Namas of Lord Vishnu in 6 hours.

Since 2014, the Singapore Dakshina Bharatha Brahmana Sabha (SDBBS) has been conducting the annual mass chanting of Vishnu Sahasranamam under the banner of Eka Dina Koti Nama Parayanam (EDKNP). This event was organised as part of Sabha’s 90th Anniversary. As the event name suggests, it is the chanting of 1 crore (10 million) namas of Sri Vishnu within a day. About 400 – 500 chanters who are reasonably well-versed with the chanting of Vishnu Sahasranama Sthothram assemble in a hall and do 22 to 25 aavarthis of this Stothram to achieve the goal. The motive of this event is LOKA SAMASTHA SUKHINO BHAVANTHU – Happiness and Prosperity for everyone in the world.
In 2020 and 2021, due to the COVID pandemic, the event was conducted in a virtual format with chanters from all over the world participating in the event from the protection of their homes. Bhagawan Vishnu is considered to be the God of Protection and Joint Prayers (Kootu Prarthanai) to HIM was the need of the hour to get us the fortitude to go through the anxious period in time.
With guidelines on social distancing and restrictions on the number of people who can assemble to chant being relaxed, Sabha is organising this year’s event in a hybrid format. Hence, devotees from all over the world and in Singapore can participate in this event, either to join the chanting and be counted to the 1 crore goal or just listening to the same on the ZOOM platform. Those in Singapore, can join physically at PGP Hall to chant the names of Bhagawan Vishnu.
Sabha looks forward to a ground swell of participants from all over the world to get the blessings of Bhagawan Vishnu as the world slowly but surely comes out of the pandemic.
